Complete Building Services (CBS) is hiring a Chief Engineer to oversee an educational facility in Washington, DC. The Chief Engineer is responsible for all mechanical and electrical operations, maintenance, plumbing, keying, lighting, life safety, and energy management within the facility. The Chief must possess an active DC Third Class license. Hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
Here is a view in the day in the life of our Chief Engineer:
- Assign work to subordinates utilizing CMMS to maintain building operations
- Provide Quality Control services for the work of subordinates and subcontractors to ensure maximum efficiency, economy, and quality of work performed
- Perform diagnostic and repairs on building systems
- Prepare work schedules
- Train, or arrange for training of, Contractor employees in the proper maintenance of building systems
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair work on a daily basis to provide on-time delivery of contract requirements
- Prepare and issue solicitations for the Contractor as necessary for the acquisition of goods and services in support of the contract requirements
- Administer the CMMS requirements daily
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and project tracking software
Complete Building Services is a facility management company that partners with major hotel brands Marriott, Hilton, Holiday Inn, and Cambria. We are looking at bringing in a new Hotel Chief Engineer to support us in Washington, DC. In this role you are eligible to make overtime. As a CBS Chief Engineer, you must be able to do the following:
- Assist in developing, managing, and operating capital budgets
- Develop and implement plans and schedules to achieve company and department goals
- Develop processes, procedures, and standards for the facility's operational performance
- Read and understand contract and RFP requirements
- Create an atmosphere of professionalism and mutual support among employees
- Review work performance of subordinates
- Manage and maintain the completion of the facilities scheduled PM's through the CMMS
- Assist with environmental compliance
- Assist with the compliance of local, state, and federal codes
- Develop, manage, and coordinate all shift schedules including holiday, vacation, sick and emergency coverages
- Conduct weekly staff meetings to discuss facility operations, project status, toolbox safety and other relevant information
- Review, approve and submit weekly time sheets, work order tickets and other required documentation
- Accurately document work performed on tickets and/or work orders
- As required, prepare, and submit a cost analysis report for contracted work
- Assist with updating and implementing HAZCOM and environmental programs
- Set-up, maintain and use filing system
- Perform tool and equipment inventory monthly
- Maintain skills and knowledge to industry standards
- Perform annual and semi-annual performance reviews
CBS is hiring a Chief Engineer to oversee a 110,000 sq. ft. building in Alexandria, VA. Hours are 7:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday.
A typical day in the life of our Chief Engineer:

Complete Building Services (CBS) is searching for Senior HVAC Technicians to join our Commercial HVAC Service division. Our HVAC Technicians rotate on call duties throughout the year, on average a tech may only be on call for 4 weeks through a 52 week period. CBS provides all service trucks to ensure you have a reliable source of travel for your position. As an HVAC Technician, you will be involved in three main areas - supporting installation projects, supporting preventative maintenance work plans, and responding to calls to troubleshoot and repair equipment. Major Duties to include:
- Maintain HVAC equipment in sound operating condition
- Diagnose and repair HVAC system problems as assigned
- Provide direction and support to sub-contractors when needed
- Interface with building personnel and other customer representatives in order to ensure client satisfaction
- Accurately document work performed on trouble tickets or work orders
- Purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory as required for timely work completion
