We are looking to add to the team with a Sustainability Manager role focused on Facilities Management at a large academic facility in the Washington, DC Metro area. As a Sustainability Manager, you will be assigned to a portfolio/set of specific buildings to support sustainability strategies, policies, programs, and initiatives. You will drive action by leveraging prior experience and building data to push progress and identify new opportunities for continued sustainability program evolution.

In this role, the Sustainability Manager will be empowered to approach the mission holistically, addressing all aspects of sustainability within each assigned building. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Data Analytics

• Technology Integration

• Building Interior/Exterior Improvements

• Energy Conservation

• Green Cleaning

• Waste Management

• Landscaping

• Other key sustainability areas

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m
Salary: $70 per hour, depending on experience

What are we looking for:

• We will substitute experience for education, but it would be great to see professionals with a bachelor’s degree in an applicable sustainability related area.
• Preference (not requirement) for certification within one of the following:
  • International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP)
  • International Facility Management Association (IMFA)
  • Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)
• 5+ years working within a sustainability role
  • Preference for those working sustainability specifically with building management, operations and maintenance
